Early Years - Foundation Stage
At Winston House we realise that choosing your child's first school is a major
decision that must be right for both you and your child. With this in mind teaching
is gently paced and not over powering. Your child should therefore adjust easily to
the new challenges ahead.
Children may begin in the nursery from the age of three. Here we aim to develop
basic skills of numeracy, language and literacy but also encourage the children to
socialise and interact in group activities and tasks.
We feel it is important at this
stage to work on enhancing concentration levels in the children. Various exercises
are used to help children progress through the early years into primary education.
Both our nursery and reception classes aim to be stimulating but stable and will ease
your children into the demands of school life and the learning process.;
We Follow the Early Years Foundation Stage to include the Six Areas of Learning:
- Mathematical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Language and Literacy
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
We are registered for Early Years Funding.
